  7. Determine the VA specialty- Based on the list of preferred skills and experience, you will be able to identify the area of expertise needed. This list may also prompt you to consider more than one VA.

  8. Create a list of interview questions- Take your time to develop questions that will help you gather the information needed to confirm the candidate can complete tasks.

  9. Develop a skills assessment- This confirms the skills and experience the candidate states they have are accurate.

  10. Formalize onboarding- Document how you will onboard your new VA. Include 30-60 day training plan.
